NRA Members Only Webinar -
Tips/Service Charge Reporting & Classification Issues
This summer the Internal Revenue Service (IRS) released “interim guidance” to IRS examiners regarding the characterization of a payment as a tip or service charge. While the guidance doesn’t break much new ground, it sends a message from the IRS that they intend to step up enforcement on both employee tip reporting and classification of tips versus service charges. Learn what the issues are and what you may need to do now to comply with the law.
Panelists will be:
Dave Koenig, Vice President, Tax & Profitability, National Restaurant Association
Mary Baker, Government Affairs Associate, K&L Gates
Marianna Dyson, Member, Miller & Chevalier
