Local Foods

Purchasing local foods is a hot-button issue facing the restaurant industry today. Chefs and consumers statewide have shown an increased desire for locally grown foods in restaurants and foodservice establishments. To meet this demand, some establishments are changing their menus to appeal to these health-focused and environmentally-conscious citizens.

The Wisconsin Restaurant Association supports efforts to purchase food locally. To help educate Wisconsin establishments on purchasing food from local producers, WRA has made free downloadable PDFs available, courtesy of Iowa State University Extension.
