Local Restaurant Owner Honored As Outstanding Restaurateur of the Year

Brent Weycker, of Titletown Brewing located in Green Bay, was honored as the Outstanding Restaurateur of the Year (OROY) by the Wisconsin Restaurant Association (WRA) Green Bay Chapter, made up of Shawano, Brown and Outagamie counties.

The OROY award will be presented to Weycker on January 15th, at a WRA chapter meeting held at Syrah Restaurant in Green Bay. Senator Dave Hansen and Rep. Karl Van Roy and Rep elect Eric Genrich have been invited to present a Legislative Citation to Weycker.

On Tuesday, March 12, Weycker will also be honored with a commendation medal at the 2013 WRA Awards Dinner gala, taking place at the Marcus Center for the Performing Arts in downtown Milwaukee. The OROY award is given by fellow members of the Green Bay Chapter based on success in business, community service and dedication to the restaurant industry.

Weycker has worked in the foodservice industry for 26 years. Titletown Brewing is located in an 1898 train station which is on the National Register of Historic Places. The brew pub produces their own beer and SNO CAP rootbeer.

Weycker feels that running a restaurant is an exciting profession to be part of and he enjoys watching many of his team members grow from high school teenagers, to college students to successful professionals. Some have even gone on to build their own businesses.

Weycker is active in his community as a board member of both On Broadway and the local Convention and Visitor’s Bureau. He has been very supportive of the Wisconsin Restaurant Association and the restaurant industry. Weycker currently serves on the WRA state board of directors.

Weycker and his wife Joanne reside in Green Bay. They have three children: Jacqueline, Mitchell and Eric.
