Michael Tsuchihashi Restaurateur Honored with Salute to Excellence Award

Michael Tsuchihashi, owner of Atlas BBQ in Grafton, is honored as the restaurateur recipient for the 2015 Salute to Excellence Awards, presented by the Wisconsin Restaurant Association Education Foundation (WRA Education Foundation). The WRA Education Foundation presents Michael Tsuchihashi with this award for his commitment to education, the community and the industry.

“Michael brings a wealth of expertise and knowledge to the WRA Education Foundation and the foodservice industry,” says Connie Fedor, Executive Director of the WRA Education Foundation. “His commitment to supporting and training the industry’s future leaders is an integral part of the Foundation’s mission.”

Tsuchihashi’s enthusiasm for Wisconsin’s foodservice industry and education is evident as seen by his commitment and support of WRA Education Foundation programs and activities. Tsuchihashi is the immediate past Chairman of the WRA Education Foundation Board, where he has donated his time and energy to the ProStart® program, volunteered as a judge and emcee at the Wisconsin ProStart® Invitational and assisted students competing in the National ProStart® Invitational.

The WRA Education Foundation proudly presents Michael Tsuchihashi with the 2015 Salute to Excellence Restaurateur Award.

Each year, the WRA Education Foundation recognizes individuals in five categories and one company for dedication and commitment to education in the restaurant industry as Salute to Excellence honorees. With an overwhelming response to the program, the WRA has decided to choose seven honorees for this year’s Salute. Other 2015 Salute to Excellence honorees include: Vicki Mendham (Nicolet College, Rhinelander); David Ross (Lake Lawn Resort, Delavan); Laura Cronan (Nekoosa High School, Nekoosa); Sally Heuer (West Bend High Schools); Don Thompson (Red Mill Supper Club, Stevens Point); and Woolsey and Associates (Waukesha). Each honoree creates opportunities for people interested in foodservice industry careers. They have worked in a variety of roles and in different parts of the state, but they share an enthusiasm and optimism for the future of the restaurant industry.

The Salute to Excellence awards are presented at the 2015 Celebration of Excellence on Sunday, October 25 at the Hilton Milwaukee City Center in Downtown Milwaukee. More information on the event is available at www.wirestaurant.org.
