ALERT!  Expo Exhibitors Targeted by Scam

The Wisconsin Restaurant Association has recently uncovered a new scam that targets exhibiting companies by using the names of the Wisconsin Restaurant Expo and other highly respected trade shows.

Commercial Online Manuals, a company out of Mexico, is sending solicitations to trade show exhibitors to advertise in its Expo-Guide.  The intent of the scam is to mislead exhibitors into submitting their company contact information for a free exhibitor listing and inclusion in the guide.  However, the fine print states that through submitting the order form, the exhibiting company is entering into a three-year agreement and will be charged $1571 USD per year. 

Businesses such as this have been the object of ongoing investigations by international law enforcement and government agencies for their fraudulent and misleading practices.  The Wisconsin Restaurant Association recommends that all exhibiting companies refrain from responding to any solicitation of this sort.
