ALERT: Revised I-9 Form Employers should start using immediately the revised I-9 Form now available from the U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services (USCIS). All employers are required to complete a Form I-9 for each employee hired in the United States and should now use the revised I-9 Form now available. Employers who use the outdated editions of the I-9 are subject to fines and penalties. The changes to the form are as follows:

Instructions regarding Section 1 of the I-9 now indicate that the employee is not obliged to provide the Social Security Number in Section 1, unless he or she is employed by an employer who participates in E-Verify. The section on Photocopying and Retaining Form I-9 now includes information about electronically signing and retaining the forms. You may use the links below to download the new form and more detailed information about the revisions.
