Treasury Announces Long Awaited Penny Guidance

The Treasury Department recently released public guidance for small businesses on how to manage cash transactions relative to penny shortages.  

The document offers guidance on how businesses can round up/down.  Keep in mind, it doesnot provide legal protections for businesses (if the prevailing state/local law doesn’t allow rounding), but it at least offers a standard that a small business can point to in the absence of a national standard. 
 
WRA is waiting for specific guidance from the Wisconsin Department of Revenue and we will alert you in this newsletter when we get final guidance for Wisconsin.

What's Good Wednesday

​The Mill, Bonduel became the center of a life-saving miracle when owner NiCole Fischer took to Facebook to help her lifelong friend, Andy Drath of Manawa. After learning Andy needed a liver transplant due to Primary Sclerosing Cholangitis and discovering she couldn't donate herself, Fischer posted on social media asking for help. Mandy Williams of Bonduel saw the post and felt compelled to get tested—she turned out to be a 100% compatible match, despite being a complete stranger.

The transplant surgery took place at UW Health Transplant Clinic in Madison, proving that sometimes the Wisconsin hospitality community's greatest gift is the selfless generosity of its people.
