Wisconsin Restaurant Association Chapter Raises Funds for Eau Claire High Schools
The West Wisconsin Chapter of the Wisconsin Restaurant Association is donating $4,000 to Eau Claire North High School and $4,000 to Eau Claire Memorial High School. The Chapter is also donating $4,000 to the Wisconsin Restaurant Association Education Foundation’s ProStart program which is a foodservice industry curriculum and mentoring program that is used in many high schools around the state including the Eau Claire schools. The Chapter is donating $4,000 to each of the schools for their culinary departments to purchase equipment for expansions of their programs.
WRA West Wisconsin Chapter representatives will present checks to the schools and the ProStart program at a West Wisconsin Chapter event on Monday, January 21st at 6:00 p.m. at Lake Hallie Golf, 2196 110th Street in Chippewa Falls.
Eau Claire School District Superintendent Mary Ann Hardebeck and a culinary program instructor from each of the schools will be present at the event to receive the checks and thank chapter representatives for their donations.
“Many students around the state have been inspired by the ProStart program at their high school and are pursuing a rewarding career in hospitality and foodservice,” said Lynn McDonough, owner of Connell’s Supper Club in Chippewa Falls and Connell’s II in Fall Creek. “We are pleased to be able to help these schools expand their culinary programs and introduce students to careers in the restaurant and foodservice industry. These students will gain valuable skills and experiences that will serve them well in the future, whatever path they might choose."
