WRA is pleased to announce Chef Robert Klemm has joined WRA’s team as a Membership Engagement Representative
Changes, Blessings, and an Exciting New Calling.
It’s true: Change is the only constant in life. Preparing and providing great food is all I know, and sharing this love is what I do. For the past 25 years, I’ve immersed myself in the business of restaurants and the hospitality service industry, pouring blood, sweat and tears into my life’s passion. I’ve tasted a healthy helping of change along the way. I’ve lived the dream of running multiple successful restaurants and consulting for many others, and the humility of having to close my own establishments, INdustri Cafe in Milwaukee and The Villa at Heaven City in Mukwonago.
In 2017, I began to experience the most miraculous changes life has to offer. The most wonderful woman in the world became my wife, and soon we were blessed with Marilynn Rose (Mari), now 22 months, and Robert Benjamin (Bobby), age 5 months. With my family now priority-one, I found myself at a career crossroads, wanting to pursue my personal passion and meaning in my next professional step, while having more work/life balance… And now I sincerely believe I have found my calling in yet another change.
Moving Forward by Giving Back.
I am very honored – and beyond excited – to announce that I’ve accepted a position as Membership Engagement Representative for the Wisconsin Restaurant Association. The WRA, in existence since 1933, is a not-for-profit trade association dedicated to supporting the food service industry. I’ve been a proud member since 2010, done many live demonstrations in the WRA Midwest Foodservice Expo, and the WRA has been engaging, supportive and helpful to me as a restaurant manager throughout my career.
As I join this seasoned, dynamic and talented team, my role will be focused on working with restaurants specifically within Milwaukee & Waukesha Counties. I’m eager to combine my long-standing support for local and small businesses with my intimate knowledge of the food service industry to strengthen our legion of current and future members and our industry as a whole. I look forward to networking with other organizations, sharing my culinary skills at charitable events, giving back to the community though the WRA Kitchen Cabinet program and by preparing our youth for culinary careers via the WRA Wisconsin ProStart® mentoring program.
I’m so very blessed to have a healthy and happy family, and now a gratifying career path that has come full circle as I join the WRA family. My goal going forward is give back to our Wisconsin community of restaurants by using my years of experience and love for everything culinary to further the mission of the Wisconsin Restaurant Association … all while cooking and making people happy!
