Wisconsin Restaurant Association Wins National Award for Ready to Serve Safely Awareness Campaign
The Wisconsin Restaurant Association’s Ready to Serve Safely campaign was awarded a national Gold Circle Award from the American Society of Association Executives in the Media/Public Relations Campaign category. The Gold Circle Awards denote excellence, innovation and achievement in association/nonprofit marketing, membership and communications programs.
The ASAE competition drew a record-breaking 300 submissions across 15 categories. Over 100 judges from a variety of associations, nonprofits and for-profit organizations evaluated this year’s entries. ASAE is a membership organization of more than 48,000 association executives and industry partners representing 7,400 organizations.
The Ready to Serve Safely campaign, which ran from November, 2020 through March, 2021, focused on increasing confidence in dining out in Wisconsin by educating the dining public about what restaurants are doing to keep customers and employees safe from the spread of COVID-19. WRA member restaurants had the opportunity to participate in the program by committing to following specific best practices guidelines for COVID-19 mitigation outlined by the Wisconsin Restaurant Association. Participating restaurants were listed in the Ready to Serve Safely online directory.
The Ready to Serve Safely campaign was promoted to the public with digital, television and radio ads statewide as well as a social media campaign. Funding for the public awareness campaign was made possible by TRAVEL grant funds in partnership with the Wisconsin Department of Tourism.
