Restaurant Revitalization Fund

RELIEF FOR RESTAURANTS
NOTE: On June 12, the Small Business Administration announced that due to a recent court case, they were forced to suspend payments to RRF grant recipients who qualified under the “priority” designation. The National Restaurant Association is working with the SBA on next steps, but clearly the news underscores the need for Congress to replenish the RRF.
Tell your elected officials to replenish the RRF
On March 11th, President Biden signed the American Rescue Plan which includes $28.6 billion specifically for restaurants as part of the Restaurant Revitalization Fund. The fund is administered by the US Small Business Administration (SBA). WRA is grateful to see a program that provides restaurant-specific relief that small and independent restaurants deserve after closures, increased costs and decreased revenues have threatened their ability to stay in business for nearly a year. The RRF reflects our year-long effort together to help restaurants in need and builds on other relief tools that have been provided.
Applications for Restaurant Revitalization Fund grants opened on Monday, May 3rd and closed on May 24, 2021.
As expected, the amount of need for Restaurant Revitalization Fund grants has been tremendous. As of May 18, the Small Business Administration has received more than 303,000 applications representing over $69 billion in requested funds. With a total of pool of funding at $28.6 billion, the need is greater than the available funds.
